Refugee Services School Impact Tutor Assistant - Summer Camp

Description

Refugee Services School Impact Program has a need for volunteers to assist instructors in summer camps. Our volunteers help with a variety of tasks which include assisting with attendance, passing out snacks, helping with crafts, providing literacy instruction, and aiding in classroom management . Training is provided for volunteers who would like to serve with us. Each session is hosted by a CCFW staff member who is available for guidance during the session. Volunteers should enjoy working with students who are new to learning English or are learning basic reading skills. No teaching background is required. Class locations will be off site in apartment complex clubhouses. 

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Attend a volunteer orientation 
  • Complete volunteer forms and an annual background check 
  • Willing to commit to two or more sessions per week (same days and time each week) in June and July
  • Attend Safe Environment training with the Diocese of Fort Worth 
  • Attend program specific training
